First Annual 5K
Valley Creek College is excited to invite our family and friends to our first annual Valley Creek College 5k! This event will be held on Saturday, October 18 at the future campus of Valley Creek College. All proceeds from this event will go toward advancing the vision of Valley Creek College: developing leaders who know who they are, who God is, and what they were created to do – and act as if it were so.
Register by Tuesday, September 23 to guarantee that you’ll receive your official 5k shirt by race day! Those who register after that date will have the opportunity to pick up their shirt later.
Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to lace up their sneakers and join us for one of the three events happening that day: the competitive 5k, the recreational 5k, and the one-mile fun run/walk. For any questions, check out our FAQ below!
More Ways to Create the Future
If you’re unable to participate in the 5k but still want to help create the future of Valley Creek College, you can do so by contributing to the Valley Creek College Scholarship Fund.
Recommended Giving Levels:
- LEVEL 1: $500 (covers the cost of one academic excellence scholarship)
- LEVEL 2: $1,000 (covers the cost of a tier-one service and leadership scholarship)
- LEVEL 3: $2,500 (covers the cost of a tier-two service and leadership scholarship)
- LEVEL 4: $5,000 (covers the cost of one Movement of Hope Scholarship)
- LEVEL 5: $16,500 (covers the cost of one student’s tuition and fees for a full academic year)
- OTHER: (You can give a one-time or recurring gift of any amount)

Race Packet Pick-Up
We ask that you please complete the following steps before the race begins:
- Complete and acknowledge our waiver.
- Pick up your race packet early at one of the following times and locations in order to skip check-in on race day:
- October 16, 9am-5pm at Valley Creek Church (south/office entrance) located at 5800 Long Prairie Rd., Flower Mound, TX 75028
- October 17, 9am-1pm at Valley Creek Church (south/office entrance) located at 5800 Long Prairie Rd., Flower Mound, TX 75028
- If you are unable to pick up your race packet early, you can pick it up on race day when you arrive at check-in, as early as 7:30am.
NOTE: Check-in will close at 8:30am on race day. Please plan to arrive early enough to ensure that you can get your race materials in time for the opening rally.
As a reminder, if you registered for the race after September 23, your race packet won’t include your 5K shirt. You’ll receive your shirt at a later date.
Race Day Schedule
- 7:30am – Check-in begins
- 8:30am – Opening rally and race instructions
- 9am – Competitive 5K starts
- 9:10am – Recreational 5K starts
- 9:20am – 1-Mile fun run/walk starts
- 9:30am – Post-race celebration starts (including food, bounce houses, and more)
- 10:30am – Awards ceremony starts in celebration of the top 3 overall finishers in the competitive 5K
Parking
Please park in one of the following designated areas:
- Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church parking lot
- Valley Creek College Campus parking lot
- Marcus High School west parking lot
NOTE: If you’re parking in the Marcus High School west parking lot, please use caution as you walk across Dixon Lane.

Where and when can I pick up my race packet?
Participants can pick up their race packet during the following times at the following locations:

Can I pick up my packet on race day?
Yes, participants can pick up their race packet day-of beginning at 7:30am at 2222 Dixon Ln., Flower Mound, TX 75028.
Where can I park on race day?
Participants can use the parking lots for the Valley Creek College campus at 2222 Dixon Ln., Flower Mound, TX 75028 and the Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church at 6101 Morriss Rd., Flower Mound, TX 75028.
How will traffic around the neighborhood be impacted on race day?

Can I run with my dog or pet?
We want to honor residents and respect the premises and surrounding neighborhoods, therefore no animals will be allowed on property and along the race route.
Do I need to register my kids for the 5k?
This is a family-friendly event, and your kids are welcome! Anyone who is planning to participate in the event will need to fill out a registration form. For anyone able to join you in a stroller, no registration is required. Only registered participants will receive a race shirt and bib.
Are strollers allowed?
Yes, this is a family-friendly event. If using a stroller, we encourage you to be mindful of other participants and fall towards the back of your race wave. We would respectfully ask that you only register for the Recreational 5K or the 1-Mile fun/run.
If I can’t make it to the event, can I get a refund?
Registration fees are considered a donation to the Valley Creek College Scholarship Fund and are non-refundable.
If it rains on race day, what will happen with the event?
Rain or shine, the event will go on.
Will the course be timed?
Yes, the VC College Team will clock top finishers as they cross the finish line.
Will there be water stations around the course?
Yes, there will be water stations available throughout the course.
