About Us

Valley Creek College exists to develop leaders who know who they are, who God is, and what they were created to do – and act as if it were so. We offer a unique approach to higher education that focuses on the development of the whole person.

Students can pursue a fully-accredited associate or bachelor’s degree through our partnership with Southeastern University (SEU) while being shaped and formed into the image and likeness of Jesus.

The Five Distinctives

We believe in an integrated college experience that challenges students to grow in all areas of life while pursuing their academic goals. Students will learn how to learn (academic excellence), how to become (spiritual formation), how to connect (relational skills), how to lead (leadership development), and how to love (missional living).

The History of Valley Creek College

As Valley Creek Church began focusing on reaching the next generation, we became one of the fastest growing churches in the country. Since that time, developing kingdom leaders of all ages has become a part of our culture. We believe that everyone was created to be a kingdom leader.

We began to dream and pray about starting a school for young adults that would be unlike any school that existed. We wanted to create a transformational learning experience where young adults could take next steps on their journey with Jesus while discovering who they are, who God is, and what they were created to do.

Valley Creek Leadership Academy (VCLA) was launched as a nine-month gap year experience designed to build kingdom leaders for life. Classes were held at the Flower Mound Campus of Valley Creek Church.

The first class of VCLA graduates with 13 kingdom leaders.

Through a partnership with Colorado Christian University, VCLA was able to offer 12 hours of college credit for the nine-month gap year experience.

Through our partnership with Southeastern University, VCLA expanded to become a two-year experience where students were able to pursue an accredited associate degree as they prepared for a career in ministry or the marketplace.

JANUARY: As part of Missional Move Create The Future, it is announced that beginning fall 2025, VCLA will expand to officially become Valley Creek College offering students a unique approach to higher education where they will be able to pursue a variety of fully accredited associate and bachelor’s degrees through our partnership with Southeastern University.

JUNE: Valley Creek Church acquires an almost 40 thousand square foot building on 4 acres of land less than 1 mile from our Flower Mound campus. This building will become the future home of Valley Creek College.

Valley Creek College/VCLA has graduated 85 kingdom leaders. With a focus on the development of the whole person, students are learning how to learn, become, connect, lead, and love like Jesus while embracing healthy rhythms and spiritual practices that will shape them for a lifetime.

Yes. The Southeastern University (SEU) Partner Program does afford students the opportunity to apply for financial aid. The most common financial aid awards available are the federal Pell grant, subsidized and unsubsidized student loans, and the parent PLUS loan, all of which are obtained through the FAFSA application (fafsa.gov). Once the FAFSA is processed successfully, students will receive a tentative award letter from SEU’s Office of Student Financial Services that outlines their expected financial aid for the year.

For more information on how to apply for financial aid, visit https://www.seu.edu/financial.

Yes. Students will be able to work part-time as long as it doesn’t interfere with outside reading and assignments (approximately 12-15 hours per week), scheduled activities, or required events.

Like all higher education institutions, Southeastern University (SEU) has specific guidelines on credit acceptance from other colleges. Generally, SEU will accept credits from other regionally accredited colleges; however, the transferability of credits depends on the student’s academic performance in those prior courses, as well as the course equivalency in the student’s degree program at SEU. Please contact the Offices of the Registrar ([email protected]) with specific questions pertaining to transfer of credits.
